The most notable figures in cannabis legalization were Brownie Mary and Dennis Peron. At first, they gave cannabis in all forms, from flowers and edibles to brownies and tea. Then, they went on to write and promote Prop 215, The Compassionate Care Act, which changed the nation’s perspective on cannabis as medicine. This mural tells that story.
Cannabis Mural Unveiling Details
The Community Mural Selection committee conducted a nationwide search for an artist who could tell the heart felt story of two communities coming together in the act of true compassion by giving free cannabis to the San Francisco LGBTQ community who were being ravaged by the then unmanageable disease, AIDS.
The program will be hosted by Donna Sachet and starts at 3 PM.
